Novel Nitrate Ion-Selective Microsensor Fabricated by Means of Direct Ink Writing

In this work, the stability, electrical conductivity, and versatility of graphite-based inks were taken advantage to fabricate a nitrate potentiometric sensor. One other key property that was exploited for design an ion-selective electrode hydrophobicity graphite. This prevented formation water layer between solid contact polymeric selective membrane. Moreover, given use printing technologies fabrication, it possible easily miniaturize sensors achieve lower fabrication costs. article, printed sensor, composed graphite working Ag/AgCl reference electrode, is presented thoroughly characterized. The modified with well-known PVC-ionophore membrane, protected PVB-NaCl saturated It showed almost-Nernstian sensitivity −(55.4 ± 0.7) mV/dec NO3−, stability up 25 days operation, limit detection 0.204 0.009 mM, repeatability 99.02 % (N = 3). Coupled its high selectivity compared anions, low-cost, mass-producible sensor great alternative environmental industrial applications.
